Archbishop Joe S. Vásquez spent almost eight years serving as an Auxiliary Bishop for Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza in Galveston-Houston. During that time, he worked closely with many ministry leaders and parishioners, sharing the grace of the sacraments in Confirmation and more.
Nearly 20 years prior to being ordained an auxiliary bishop in 2002, Archbishop Vásquez studies at St. Mary's Seminary and the University of St. Thomas in Houston before then-San Angelo Bishop Joseph A. Fiorenza sent the future-Archbishop Vásquez to Rome to continue his seminary studies.
